I always look at man-hole covers cos some of them are made in India…..but the sidewalks sometimes sizzle in summer (1st Ave and 1st St)

Marion Valladares Smith is a Language Instructor and has traveled widely in India, Europe and the Americas. She is particularly attracted by the human detail of things she sees and the effect it has on her. In the tradition of generations of her family, she graduated from St Xavier’s College, Bombay and went on to hone her language skills in Spain and France where she lived and studied for several years. For the last thirty years she has lived in worked teaching English, French and Spanish to immigrants and professionals in New York City which has, for all practical purposes, replaced Bombay as home.
